Brain Fog

So I have been sitting here for about an hour trying to figure out what to post today because my original plan was a craft I didn’t have time to get to. I did everything I could think of; I searched my old Google Drive documents and photos to see if there was anything I could use. Maybe a forgotten story or free-write that would make an interesting fiction post. I took a moment to shut my eyes and breath for a short meditation; I even took a five-minute break and played a game.

Clearly, none of this worked because here I am pretty much free-writing this journal post. The brain fog I am feeling today is indescribable. I’m sure some of this is stress about life and things I have planned for my life that seem to be going awry. Some of it is definitely the absolute lack of sleep from last night. I’ve tried coffee, but it just made me jittery on top of being foggy.

I even Googled how to get rid of brain fog. It turns out that most sites recommend exercise, sleep, meditation, stress relief, and eating more fruits and vegetables to help clear brain fog. But I feel like that’s if you have chronic brain fog. What if I have random brain fog? Should I nap and then drink a smoothie while walking around the block?

I guess that is another thing about brain fog; we expect an instant cure, a fix that you can complete in moments. This is obviously why I reached for my good friend caffeine.

What do you do for brain fog?

Seriously, any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated. Drop a comment below and let us know.
